Dr. Lary Smith

smithDr. Lary Smith, a Southern Utah native, returned to join The Foot and Ankle Institute in 1995. He is board certified in foot reconstructive surgery and is a fellow of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr Smith trained in podiatric medicine at USC medical center, and completed surgical residency training programs in Arizona, San Fransisco and a fellowship in podiatric sports medicine and foot surgery in Seattle, Washington.

He practices in Mesquite, St. George and Hurricane.

With extensive training and experience, he can offer conservative and surgical treatment options for foot and ankle problems to achieve the best outcome for his patients.

He also specializes in treating wounds of the foot, ankle and lower extremity.

He is experienced in treating complex foot problems including heel pain, hammer toes, bunion deformities and neuromas and all aspects of general foot care. He had a patient and gentle philosophy toward patient care.

Dr Smith has an interest in chronic pain syndromes of the foot and leg. His interest is centered in chronic nerve entrapment syndromes of the lower extremity. Pioneering this treatment in the state of Utah. He considers one of his mentors in treatment of complex nerve problems to be A. Lee Dellon of Johns Hopkins Medical Center. He is a fellow of the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons.

He is passionate about staying at the forefront of the latest developments in chronic nerve syndromes and treatment options.
